Research in INALDE
 The profession of management is above all a trade which one learns by practice. A good level of knowledge of the trade provides a better understanding of improvement, and this knowledge must have the best possible practical logic. So, appropriate research in this process of formation of managers in their trade should have the following characteristics:
It must the investigation in organizations. This means penetrating the business, compiling all possible information, conducting interviews, and living in and with the organization. The construction of a case requires much effort in fieldwork, analysis and synthesis for subsequent adjustment to the process of teaching managers.
In INALDE, with its inbuilt mission to form management, there is an emphasis on what has been called "applied research and experimental development", that is, research which is materialised in cases of teaching, technical notes and specific topics of more detailed study of each of the areas of an organization. Following the philosophy of Universidad de la Sabana, a research group is the basic unit for generating knowledge, and it makes a stable commitment to a single topic or field of investigation. This involves a team of researchers in one or more disciplines, and from one or more institutions. The group makes its name by its results, which are shared permanently with peers at home and abroad, and therefore, it is possible to establish quality.
Groups are formed by teacher-researchers, and in certain cases there may be professional researchers, students and advisers who interact dynamically in one or more disciplines, and share experiences, interests and values, in order to achieve common objectives within a single program, line or project in research.
